Our Library Services

Checking Out Materials

Residents of Camanche and its surrounding areas is eligible for a library card at the Camanche Public Library. Stop in the library to fill out a library card application.  Children under 14 years old must have a parent/guardian present to sign the application.  Camanche Public Library participates in the Open Access program.  Anyone living in another town whose library also participates in the Open Access program may use our library.  Please bring your current library card from the town you live in.

Items returned before opening hours or after closing hours can be placed in the outdoor return.

If the library is open, we encourage you to return items inside the library.
Renewals may be done over the telephone or online by clicking HERE and logging in to your account.

Reserving Items
If you would like to reserve an item, please inquire at the circulation desk, call the library, or reserve online by clicking HERE and logging in to your account.  We will contact you when you are next on the waiting list.

Interlibrary Loan
Our library purchases the books and materials that we believe are most wanted by our community. Due to limited resources and space, we cannot purchase everything that is published, but we can usually get items from another library if we don't have them through interlibrary loan. Our library is part of a vast network of participating libraries that are willing to loan out materials to other libraries in the state through the State Library of Iowa.  

If you can't find an item (book, CD, DVD, video, or magazine) at our library, please ask a staff member to help request materials from another library. We cannot request materials less than 6 months from their publication date.

There is no charge for this service. Most of the items are delivered to our library in 7-14 days. The loan periods may vary, as they are determined by the lending library, but you can generally expect at least two weeks. The staff will inform you of the loan period when you pick up the item. You can also request interlibrary loan items online by clicking HERE and logging in to your account.

Computers & WiFi
Computers with internet access and a variety of software applications are available for those with a library card. Wifi is available throughout the building. No password is required.

Printing & Copying
Printing from a library computer and copying service are both available.
     Black and White Printing/Copying is 25¢ per page.
     Color Printing is 50¢ per page.

Fax
Our library has a fax machine available to the public during library hours. Faxes can be both sent and received. The fee is $1.00 per page to send and $1.00 per page to receive. The library's fax number is
